Switching Fire Alarm Provider
You can change fire alarm maintenance provider, subject to the agreement you are currently in. Before switching, check your notice period, who holds your service records and what happens to monitoring during the changeover.
Who this is for
- Owners whose current provider has become hard to reach
- Premises receiving charges they did not expect
- Businesses consolidating alarm, monitoring and servicing with one supplier
Why owners usually want to move
The common reasons are practical: calls not returned, servicing that has drifted, records nobody can produce, or invoices that keep appearing on top of an annual charge.
The hesitation is usually the same too. Owners worry that switching means losing monitoring, losing history or getting caught by their existing contract.
How FirePulse takes it on
The survey establishes what is installed, what condition it is in and what can be carried across. You then get the monthly figure and the scope in writing before anything changes.
From there the monitored alarm, servicing and certification sit on one FirePulse contract with ADS Group.
What is included
- A survey of the existing system and setup
- Written confirmation of scope and monthly figure before you commit
- Monitored alarm, servicing and certification on one contract afterwards
What we do not claim
- We cannot release you from an existing agreement. Check your notice period and terms before giving notice.
- Whether the installed system can be taken on depends on what the survey finds.
How it works
Check your agreement
Notice period, term end date and anything owed.
Survey
We look at what is installed and what can be carried across. A nominal survey charge applies and is credited against your FirePulse contract if you proceed.
Written scope
You get the monthly figure and what it covers before making a decision.
Changeover
We agree the timing so monitoring and servicing continue in an orderly way.
The work is carried out by ADS Group engineers. ADS Group has been trading since 2003 and holds more than 1,300 active contracts.
Common questions
Can I change from my current fire alarm provider?
Yes, subject to your existing agreement. Check your notice period and any outstanding term before giving notice.
Will I lose my service history?
Ask your current provider for copies of your servicing records before the changeover. They are useful to have, whoever services the system next.
Can FirePulse take over the system that is already installed?
Sometimes, depending on the system and its condition. The survey will tell you plainly.
What should I ask a new provider?
What is in the monthly figure, what is not, who holds the records, and what happens when the alarm activates outside business hours.
